For Blogophilia Topic: Memories,
Hard Bonus: Include a past Blogphilia blog, I am resharing a blog I wrote for week 13.5 It is a Crown Sonnet Redouble`.
I
used the Blogophilia topics, phrases and the bonus topics for each week of
season one year five and incorporated each week into one sonnet. The topic and
pic phrase is in the first stanza with each of the bonus topics in the other
two stanzas with the couplet leading into the next week’s topic. You will
figure it out as you read along. I worked very hard at staying in the sonnet
format utilizing the ten syllable count for each line. It is the longest, hardest and probably the dumbest poem I have ever written. It was posted on my Myspace blogs before they all dissappeared.
Easy Bonus: Mention a Blogophila writer: Tyler (in poem)
Memories can bring a smile, cause a sigh and bring a tear to
the eye. Make you laugh or burst out in
song. They can last All day long.
They release emotions held within and be relived over again,
show you the way in the dark of day.
Give you the feeling that someone cares. And they can last
forever, if you share.
Poem Title: Blogophilia
Sonnet I
While going the extra mile we were sited
by a high plains drifter on the hill
I can tell you right now we were excited
because the drifters name was not Bill Will
Being chased by a herd of wild babies
in a dream from my own demented mind
the stampeding babies all had rabies
I must say those babies were not very nice
"One tequila, two, three tequila, floor"
I cannot believe I am doing this
There goes Tyler running through the points door
I think I'm falling into the abyss
Most of you will think that I need slappin'
as we sat on the rocks; lightly nappin'
Sonnet II
As we sat on the rocks; lightly nappin'
the fox and the hound ran beside our stone
the hound circled like he was trackin'
or perhaps he was searchin' for a bone
eighty percent of you know this is stupid
twenty percent believe I'm a clown
one hundred percent want me suited
in a straight jacket hospital gown
or tied to a shot put strapped to my neck
and tossed into my own inner hell
the mind is lost on a simple trek
if you find it put it back in its cell
Ah, the white coats! We are reunited!
They said: You are cordially invited
Sonnet III
They said: You are cordially invited
and there is no place for a Backup Plan
your poem cannot even be recited
in fact it is driving us all quite mad
Ice Water Castles adrift in the sky
on clouds of vaporous transparent hue
birds of indifference flying on high
if you didn't notice I am quite blue
Aethenoth or Boethos one and the same
he pranced, danced, with grace and proud dignity
and on his back Godiva made her name
Horse and lady; both visions of beauty
Now it is time to continue the slappin'
and, and...and that's how it really happened
Sonnet IV
And, and...and that's how it really happened
I believed that I was walking on air
but it was really: Skyline Manhattan
and once realized I was really scared
You can agree to disagree, or not
that I am undeniably confused
What's my pedigree? Silly me...blood clot
Are you now feeling totally abused?
Two left feet; three times six plus two left toes
the right, forgotten one, has not a clue
about what the left one thinks it knows
Does anyone have a pair of two left shoes?
I will purchase this no matter the cost
A new day with or without a big boss
Sonnet V
A new day with or without a big boss
I intend to make a very big splash
My thoughts coated with gloss; total chaos
No; I'm not smokin' any of your hash stash
Twist, Stomp or make my brain mashed potatoes
We will dance our troubles away today
and make sauce out of your red tomatoes
Won't you stay? My mind really wants to play
The Center Of The Universe You are
The galaxy, the sun, reflect your glow
beneath a canopy of shining stars
They pale when compared to your dazzling show
Joy filled laughter in the dark of the night
Hilaria! We rejoiced within the lights
sonnet VI
Hilaria! We rejoice within the lights
Swimming, laughing in a back Waterworld
Beneath the moon and a star studded night
and into the darkness our cares we hurled
the Pacific Northwest tree octopus
Of this my thought fade, I have not a clue
It might as well be a cussed succubus
or the old lady who is quite the prude
Jackalope, antelope how can we cope?
The mind goes turvy and tries to scurry
away from thoughts of noosing Marvin's rope
Does Marvin hurry, doesn't he worry?
No; he is hiding away in Laos
He is always thriving on the chaos
Sonnet VII
He is always thriving on the chaos
as he tries to comb his helmet shaped hair
A leader is he? Nah, he's a straw boss
and his topics often cause us to stare
Steve Martin in bunny ears brings a tear
He is often outrageous and mad
I wipe my eyes to make my vision clear
and realize that I have really been had
Hot potato; yum! Won't you give me one
I prefer it baked, much better than cake
Please won't you tell me; are you having fun?
There goes Tyler; he's running for the gate
Imagination will always take flight
in light or the darkness of stellar nights
Sonnet VIII
In light or the darkness of stellar nights
You can be sure a tree grows in Brooklyn
and it's leaves in Autumn are golden bright
yes, my concern for this tree is maudlin
Its fragrance is an enticingly pure
The shape is magically majestic
Its allure is emotionally sure
Its moves in the wind a dance artistic
No burning bridges to stop your ascent
but you may become weary as you climb
Once you arrive you will not descend
for the tree whispers images sublime
As we prepare to spend a stellar night
A happy journey was ours without fright
Sonnet IX
A Happy Journey was ours without fright
and we did not think that three is a crowd
There is comfort in numbers in the night
when nature's silence seems to be quite loud
Bad, Bad Leroy Brown would be out of place
Black Diamonds shine bright in the light of night
Blue birds over the mountain claim their space
Nature may offer a night of full fright
"How I wish, How I wish you were here..." now
Your tears, your kiss I miss. Your smile is gone
My dreams are empty, no joy is allowed
My heart no longer sings a happy song
The tears, the fears, away with you I bade
I no longer question: Whereat with blade
Sonnet X
I no longer question: Whereat with blade
We no longer speak like a valley girl
Oh my Gawd! like; gag me with a parade!
For which I am grateful; it made me hurl
“Sacré bleu” I say unto you; “what now?”
“une bague de fiançailles" came your reply
“We just met!” I say in fear, “holy cow!”
“C'est la vie: I will wait until July”
Her response seemed transcendental; as if
she could view the future's future end line
Transparent am I to think she's a gift
Satan's present; trapped till the end of time
Can I transform the dark of Satan's night?
And turn death's cold, burnt ashes to starlight
Sonnet XI
And turn Death's cold, burnt ashes to starlight
Make a donut run in spite of the sun?
Crispy sweets; sugar glazed, shine in the night
Let's eat them quickly before we must go run
Officer, the car thing just wouldn't stop
He looked at me with a glint in his eye
and said Try again pal, right from the top
I looked at him and said, “okay I lied”
I was having a nightmare in the day
Marvin Martian put his hand on my knee
I didn't know what to do, what to say
I tried to flee and let my knee be free
I wanted to enter the light of day
When I was just a child I couldn't say
Sonnet XII
When I was a just a child I couldn't say
or express myself so that they could hear
that i want a Love Bug for with to play
i was gauché; social contact I feared
Awkward at best I would trip over words
Stumbling and bumbling my way through this life
Better to talk to animals, sing with birds
They are not critical, they give no strife
Placebo of a man it’s what I am
Cardboard stand-in, entertain if I may
Faded wallflower quite dismal and bland
I haven't changed; destined to stay this way
Climb for the stars touch the top of the hill
Absolutely never, well, maybe I will...
Sonnet XIII
Absolutely never, well, maybe I will
Beetlejuice drink; the taste less than desired
There is more! Drink up old boy, drink your fill
Drink, drink we did, now the gut burns with fire
Haunting numbers infiltrate nightmare dreams
Age of birth, age of death, a lifetime revealed
The flow goes quickly like water in streams
Yes we wonder, but the end is concealed
A toss of the dice, a twisting of time
Numbers two or six, sixty two or eight
No matter the path, we walk a fine line
Have some Beetlejuice fuel, hasten your pace
Lines of words quite a bit more than a few
Written for Blogophilia and for you
Sonnet IVX
Written for Blogophilia and for you
To Marvin Martian my thoughts really railed
The words they came and the words how they flew
Against a mountain of thought the words failed
The Blogophilia writers; awesome group!
Week after week we await Martian clues
The points add up if your mind doesn't loop
If you are good the jacket is for you
Spreadsheets or guessing, we all take a chance
If the dice rolls your way you could win all
But if you don't guess you sit out the dance
Win or lose the game, we all have a ball
We are Blogophiliacs. We are Knighted
While going the extra mile; we were sited
Sonnet VX
While going the extra mile; we were sited
as we sat on the rocks, lightly nappin'
They said You are cordially invited
and that's how it really happened
A New Day with or without the big boss
Hilaria!: We rejoiced within the lights
He is always Thriving on the Chaos
In light or the darkness of Stellar Nights
A Happy Journey was ours without fright
I no longer question Whereat with blade
and turn death's cold, burnt Ashes to Starlight
When I was just a child I couldn't say
Absolutely Never, Well, Maybe we will
Marvin, you always give us a big thrill!
